IBM MQ → RabbitMQ
Phased migration with legacy code refactoring
Legacy messaging replaced in phases while the applications calling it were refactored. No big-bang cutover.
Observability
Monitoring that produces decisions, not just dashboards. Metrics, logs and traces connected, with 24/7 support.
The short answer
Observability lets engineers understand what a system is doing from the metrics, logs and traces it emits. Monitoring tells you something is wrong; observability helps you find why, including for failures nobody predicted. Our consulting implements Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog and the Elastic Stack, and supports them 24/7.

01Concepts
Monitoring checks conditions you defined in advance: CPU over a threshold, an endpoint returning errors. Observability correlates metrics, logs and traces so you can investigate problems you did not define. Monitoring is one part of an observability practice. Good observability shortens time to resolution because the evidence is already connected when an incident starts.
02Services
03Architecture
An observability stack has collection (agents, exporters, OpenTelemetry), storage, visualization and alerting. Open-source stacks on Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic and Jaeger give you control over data and cost. Commercial platforms such as Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace and Splunk trade that control for less operational work. Many enterprises run a mix.
How every engagement runs
Every Ace8 engagement follows the same three phases and the same eight principles, whatever the stack you start from.
Scope, cost and AI readiness, before any migration starts.
AI-assisted, engineer-verified, one capability at a time.
AceMQ engineers support the new stack from day one.
04Common problem
Tools accumulate: one per team, one per cloud, one inherited from an acquisition. The result is duplicated cost, dashboards nobody trusts and incidents where every team looks at a different screen. Shared conventions for metrics, logs and traces are often the fastest improvement available.
05Modernization
Moving a legacy application to new infrastructure only works if you can compare behavior before and after. We set up baseline metrics on the old system first, then use the same dashboards to prove the new one performs as well. This follows the method: measure, move, verify. It also feeds incident management once the new stack is live.
06Partner
Look for hands-on experience with both open-source and commercial tools, certification in the platforms you run, and the ability to support production around the clock.
Ask how alerts will be designed. Most monitoring failures are alert failures: too many pages for things nobody acts on, and silence for the one thing that matters. We design alerts from service-level objectives, then remove the ones that never lead to action.

IBM MQ → RabbitMQ
Legacy messaging replaced in phases while the applications calling it were refactored. No big-bang cutover.
1,000+ apps
A deterministic Spring upgrade process, run through Broadcom’s commercial Spring support, in a single 24-hour window.
IBM MQ out
IBM MQ displaced with an open-source messaging stack, supported by AceMQ.
After go-live
Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Elastic Stack and Kibana, New Relic, AppDynamics, Splunk, Dynatrace, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Google Cloud Monitoring, OpenTelemetry and Jaeger.
End-to-end visibility across applications, infrastructure and user experience, so you can trace a symptom to its cause.
Yes. It is the feedback loop of DevOps and SRE: it shows how each release behaves in production and drives alerting.
Yes. It combines infrastructure metrics, logs, tracing and APM. We deploy and tune it, and integrate it with other tools.
Yes, for containerized and serverless environments on AWS, Azure and Google Cloud.
